Girl With a One Track Mind。

新闻的名字非常有意思:白天她为哈里波特工作,但是晚上。。。

Revealed: identity of erotic diarist behind summer’s hottest book

THE anonymous author of a fast-selling sexually explicit diary has been unmasked as a 33-year-old film assistant who helped produce the latest Harry Potter blockbuster.

Girl With a One Track Mind, written under the pseudonym Abby Lee and published last week, has been hailed as the summer’s sauciest memoir, an erotic version of Bridget Jones.

The blog-turned-book is the most explicit in the female "erotic odyssey" genre sparked by Belle de Jour, the Sexual Life of Catherine M and Diary of a Manhattan Call Girl.

In graphic detail it charts the sexual adventures and desires of a thirtysomething single woman in London whose twin obsessions are sex and films.

The author says on her blog she is "paranoid" that her identity will be exposed, possibly by an embittered former lover. In the acknowledgments in her book she makes it clear she would be embarrassed if her parents read of her exploits.

This weekend the woman behind it was revealed as Zoe Margolis, a film assistant who lives in north London. Her recent film work includes the forthcoming Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Batman Begins and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life.

Margolis’s literary ambitions first emerged two years ago when she started penning a risqué internet diary detailing her life as a sexually voracious single woman in the capital.

The blog quickly gained cult status and her website has had more than 2m visitors and attracts more than 100,000 readers a month. The book went to the top of Amazon’s pre-ordered paperbacks chart after it was serialised in The Sunday Times Style section last month.

Ebury Press, a Random House subsidiary, is believed to have paid a six-figure advance for the book. Much of its commercial value depends on readers believing it is the true account of a sexually liberated woman.

The publishers of Belle de Jour, the account of life as a high-class London prostitute, went to extreme lengths to protect the identity of its author, amid speculation that it was concocted by a jobbing writer. Despite numerous attempts, her true identity has not been conclusively established.

Margolis’s book is even less inhibited than that of Belle. "I’m 32, single and horny and I want to have some fun. And over the past year, I’ve been doing just that," says "Abigail", the book’s main character.

The book follows Abby on her journey through a dozen one-night stands and "commitment-free romps" in seedy bars and restaurant toilets.

Despite her anxiety not to get caught, Margolis does not disguise her interest in film and says she has a particular obsession with actors.

Details on her blog match up with her real life. "Abby" describes how she was on a film set in march 2004, at a time when Margolis was on the set of Batman Begins.

In one extract from her diary she describes a list of stars she’d like to get to know intimately. They include Christopher Eccleston, the former Doctor Who actor, Orlando Bloom, who appeared in Pirates of the Caribbean, and Clive Owen, who was nominated for an Oscar in the British film Closer.

"Give me a few years – I hope to have ‘em all on my casting couch by then," she says.

Some critics revile the book as low-brow pornography, say it lacks humour and is poorly written. "Abby" admits her literary style is inferior to that of Belle.

The book will reignite the debate over female "raunch culture", sparked by Female Chauvinist Pigs, Ariel Levy’s book about the eagerness of young women to indulge in sexually overt behaviour. Levy argued "raunch" was corrupting women rather than empowering them.

Margolis, whose mother is a Hampstead-based psychotherapist, is said to be an ardent feminist but she does not hide from the potential ambiguities of her situation.

Her character Abby asks: "Does thinking about sex all the time mean there’s something wrong with me? It’s a question I ask myself on an hourly basis . . . Is it common to look at men’s crotches as they walk down the street?" With such a shameless interest in sex it is no surprise Margolis has gone to great lengths to try to conceal her identity. Her name does not appear on the electoral roll and her phone number is ex-directory.

In her blog last week she described her "paranoia" that the book’s release would lead to her being unmasked.

Margolis declined to comment when contacted this weekend. But she happily signed for a bouquet of flowers when told they were from her publishers.

Caroline Newbury, a spokesman for Ebury Press, said she could not comment. However, she appeared unwittingly to confirm that Margolis was Abby when she added: "That’s not my decision, that’s Abby’s . . . And you left messages for Abby." The Sunday Times had only left telephone and e-mail messages for Margolis.

Her book reveals that she works as a freelance camera assistant. The job, she writes, has given her a chance to socialise and pursue her favourite activity – even while filming: "This desire for sex . . . it’s starting to interfere with work.

"The film crews are largely male, so I’m surrounded by men all day and this is playing hell with my current sexual frustration. It’s not good; you can’t mix business and pleasure. I’m the only woman in my department and I want to be taken seriously on the film floor."
