一向觉得GoogleEarth没有害处，但是。。。不管我的观点是害怕是没有用的，即使没有GoogleEarth，卫星照片还是雷打不动地继续拍。。。

Satellite photos reveal lilliputian China in China

Alan says: "This post at the Sydney Morning Herald describes an military facility in the desert of China which someone spotted in recently released hi-res photos in Google Earth. It’s a 500:1, 700 x 900 meter scale model of the territory China took from India in the 1962 Sino-Indian War. There has been a lot of discussion, and many humorous suggestions, but nobody has figured out its function."

The Chinese site based in the very remote Huangyangtan region, appears to be a small-scale model of a piece of territory complete with snow-topped mountains, streams and valleys. The find, recorded by a German member of a Google Earth community site, has triggered speculation that the site might have a military purpose.

最近学车，对学车的过程很失望。写出来让大家看看吧。说是猫腻的话太过分了，就当是报名前的注意点吧。

注意点一、考试收费：我现在的联农安技，桩考不通过补考140；小路考不通过补考160。昨天问了一下齐爱那边的，他们桩考和小路考补考根本不收费。

注意点二、桩考的模拟考：联农安技桩考模拟一次是40元，每次进场倒车2次，使用的是考试车，缺点是你一旦碰杆考试就结束，我一个师弟倒了10次，碰杆7次，火冒得一腿；齐爱那边是按小时收费，160元，使用的是师傅的车，坏处是一次性投入大，但基本上都是几个徒弟拼车，费用也不大。这一点提出来是让大家报名之前心里有数。

注意点三、小路考的模拟考：联农安技的小路已经实行电子考，现在的进场模拟考的方式也是变来变去，调整中。齐爱那边的小路考目前还是没有实行电子考，不过电子考也迫在眉睫了；但是如果现在你去报名，肯定是电子考了。小路的电子考的难度和非电子考相比难度完全不在一个档次上。我之前以为考试严格会对自己提高水平有帮助，所以并没有什么抵触情绪，现在才知道两者区别太大。能不参加电子考一定要争取不电子考。而且小路考其实就是做项目，某些项目其实真正开车帮助不大，但是一旦电子考就会变成死穴。

注意点四、吃饭问题：联农安技是不收费，在食堂吃；齐爱是统一收费180元。两者是各有千秋。联农安技虽然不收费，一顿饭6元，师傅的饭一般徒弟要帮着买。我这个人比较大方，经常买水之类，可以说带动了不正之风。

注意点五、在上海学还是老家学的问题：我老家的学车是这样的，天天直接上山开，每天45公里。考试都是放水，单边桥、坡上定点都是不考试的。不要以为乡下的学车肯定不如上海，实际上实际开车对你的帮助极大，学完以后你就真的能够上路了。不像我现在就会做项目。如果有机会抽个一个月回家学最好。上海的驾校一般都会带很多人，然后要求你非周末请假去学。

注意点六、徒弟人数问题：我今天小路考，6个师兄弟同一天考试～昨天前天我根本开不上车，为什么，人太多，我自己花钱去齐爱请了师傅开了2天，每天2小时，最后在安技考试的时候效果还不好，原因是场地不一样。学车永远是熟练工，没车开是不可能提高水平的。

注意点七、师傅水平问题：我一个大学同学在齐爱学，他已经换了一个师傅（也是齐爱的），据他说师傅教的方法很重要，前面的一个师傅就不好，现在的师傅就不错。所以不要以为你选的驾校好就行了，师傅也很重要。我现在的师傅实际上也教的不错，但是他徒弟太多，没车开啊。

注意点八、驾校的食物链问题：我接触的联农安技和齐爱，表面上看是大驾校，实际上都是私人承包的。一个大师傅，手上有几辆车，请几个师傅带。就是这样。我说这个话是什么意思呢。就是不要认为你选了大的驾校就觉得怎么怎么的正规，都一样，你报名以前最好认识这个大师傅，认识小师傅都是没用的。认识大师傅的话很多事情都可以商量。如果不认识，那么就要有不爽的心理准备。

基本上就这样了。

补充一点，在老家学车你要有请客吃饭的觉悟。。。吃一顿至少也得100。

geek：中文为极客。

一般认为在电脑和网络上进行生活的人就是Geek。和工作中必须使用电脑的人不同，Geek需要把他们的休闲时间也在电脑中度过。而且Geek的定义也正在逐渐地更加特指那些有较高电脑能力的人。Geek是新的精英亚文化群，是一群爱好流行文化的、以技术为中心的、同时对社会怀有深刻不满的地下人类。Geek们是那些依靠计算机技术结合成的社会性人群，他们把大量社交时间花费在irc(国际互联网交谈服务，Internet Relay Chat)之类的聊天程序上，他们的娱乐是多人参与的互联网在线游戏，他们在alt.sex.bondage.particle.physics这样的新闻讨论组中发表代表个人观点的帖子，有些高级Geek则以编写共享软件为乐事。

Geek有着他们自己的社会：受过教育的，知识丰富的地下社会。这个社区能够接受从生活中各个地方来的人，只要他们能够熟练地使用网络。你无法仅从外表上来区分一个人是否是Geek。不过Geek和Nerd不同，这也是Geek更有影响力的原因。Nerd是指技术尖子，读书狂，不参加社交活动的人。而Geek把自己定义为不止是一个技术人员或者电子热爱者，他们有自己更高的理想，希望创立一个更为理想的社会，如果不是在目前的现实生活中，也至少要在Internet上。他们把Internet视为他们的世界，普通人很难进入的世界。他们试图保护这个"纯洁"的新世界，他们反抗资本主义巨型商业企业的进入，他们的目标可能就是一个信息绝对自由的电子空间。

我想我应该算一个初级的geek。

SlashDot：slashdot.org，实际上我想用它来代表一类网站。

boingboing.net，slashdot.org，spurl.net，digg.com，engadget.com。这些网站大同小异，主要都是跟踪互联网的各类 网页，并在网站上贴出有趣的网站链接，供读者点击接入。

其中一些有着对应的中文版。

为什么极客需要这样的网站呢？Slashdot这样的网站帮你寻找那些有趣的东西，因为多数读者根本没有时间自己去找。这些网站也由此拥有了巨大的影响力，因为网络上的内容越多，人们就越需要这种经过过滤的信息，这形成了一个良性循环，有些像在报纸出现的早期阶段的情形，试想如果对消息不加遴选，报 纸会成什么样子？

他和论坛实际上差不多，但是不一样的是，所有的帖子都是管理员发的，因此选出来的更有针对性。或者你可以理解为一个不错的Blog。

这是一个新天地。也是一个提高英语水平的好方法。。。哈哈。。。

I’ve decided not to list popular well known sites such as flickr and others (although it could be disputed what is well known and what isn’t). Without further ado here are the top 10 sites you should know about:

#1 http://www.meebo.com – A small upstart company that has brought trillian (http://www.trillian.cc) like features to the web. You can access Yahoo! Messanger, Jabber, Gtalk, AIM, ICQ and MSN directly through the web in a desktop like enviroment that supports multiple connections to different IM networks much like trillian.

#2 http://www.rememberthemilk.com – Another cool web 2.0 creation. If you are like me you tend to forget to do things. Also if you are like me you are connected to the world in some fashion no matter where you go (my cellphone has yet to leave my side in years). Remeberthemilk is excellent because it supports reminders via cellphones, email and instant messaging.

#6 http://www.writely.com – Word processing on the web? It was bound to happen eventually. Writely is the perfect for firing up that word document in the library or … well I’m not sure how often you run into a computer without word processing. Regardless of its usability it still is pretty cool.

#7 http://www.last.fm – Last.fm is kind of hard to describe. It is part social music tagger, part personal radio and well I guess you have to check it out to figure out the rest. Basically if you find yourself listening to lots of music while you are at your computer Last.fm might well become your best friend… well a new site you check out lots at least.

#8 http://www.pixel2life.com – Is the haven for all things tutorial. Its huge database offers a range tutorials on anything from ColdFusion to Microsoft Outlook. The tutorials are all computer related (you won’t find out how to install the plumbing here).

#9 http://www.blummy.com – Blummy.com offers a unique approach to keeping and sharing bookmarks (something that seems to be all the rage recently). Check it out if you have more bookmarks then you know what to do with.
